February 18, 2021
On February 9, the GPSC co-chairs shared a letter with divisions and partners that provided the following update:
- For those communities who have already submitted expressions of interest (EOI), the Ministry’s Primary Care Planning and Implementation Oversight team and the General Practice Services Committee (GPSC) Primary Care Transformation team are reviewing the submissions that were received last fall. Together they will assess capacity and review these submissions based on the approval criteria. Once this review is complete, a recommendation will be made to the GPSC co-chairs. This review process is well underway and decisions will be made prior to March 31, 2021 to allow you to move forward with planning.
- The Ministry and GPSC continue to work on verifying data requirements and attachment gaps and our focus remains on onboarding new Primary Care Network (PCN) communities while supporting existing communities and ensuring they are set up for success. Communities interested in submitting an EOI can do so at any time. However, these new submissions and any that were received after December 31, 2020 will be reviewed after April 1, 2021. The goal is to review new submissions as capacity to support planning allows.
If divisions and partners have any questions, please contact your Ministry Liaison or GPSC Transformation Partner, or e-mail gpsc@doctorsofbc.ca.
