Improve your practice with new flexible learning opportunities

Aug 11, 2020

Physicians and family practice teams can now take advantage of Practice Support Program (PSP) clinical and practice management learning opportunities in new accessible, flexible, and practical formats. Interested physicians and teams can participate in group learning sessions (either virtually or in-person) and individual online learning sessions. These sessions can now be accessed based on immediate practice needs, including combining topic areas, helping to enable improvements that can benefit both patients and providers.

Physicians may choose to focus on a specific learning unit within a topic area or complete a full series over a period of time. If learning needs stretch over multiple topics, a PSP team member can tailor the learning experience to integrate useful tools or activities that benefit the practice. For example, including team communication activities in a diabetes learning series to bolster team processes for diabetes patients.

Available clinical topics:

  • Chronic pain
  • COPD
  • Diabetes
  • Heart failure
  • Hypertension
  • Musculoskeletal
  • Dementia
  • Child & youth mental health
  • Adult mental health
  • Palliative care
  • Substance use

Available practice management topics:

  • Practice and quality improvement
  • Team based care
  • Advanced access & office efficiency
  • EMR optimization
  • Group medical visits
  • Virtual Care

All learning series are:

  • Needs driven: Based on your practice’s current priorities and bandwidth
  • Evidence based: Grounded in up to date evidence and guidelines
  • Practical: Focused on tangible ways to make sustainable changes in practice
  • Supported: PSP team members help ensure that learnings translate into practical change

  • Physicians can earn up to 45 certified Mainpro+®credits (at three credits/hour)
  • Time spent participating in PSP learning sessions is included as part of a Quality Improvement cycle and compensation is claimed upon completion.
