FPSC offers grants and payments to family doctors in BC to support primary care. Information about eligibility, application processes, and more is provided below.

Available starting March 2025: Payments for physicians joining the PAS after March 31, 2024.Family physicians and clinics participating in the Provincial Attachment System (PAS) for the first time who have not previously claimed the one-time Panel Registry Payment or the Clinic and Provider Registry Payment will be eligible to apply for these payments in March 2025. Funding is available to all physicians providing longitudinal patient care to a panel of patients under all payment models, such as the LFP Payment Model, Fee-for-Service, Blended Capitation, and AP models including New-to-Practice physicians on contract. Previously, panel and clinic and provider registry payments were available for work completed by March 31, 2024, through fees that ended on June 30, 2024. These new payments for physicians and clinics are for first time participation in PAS up until the end of March 2025.
Eligible physicians can claim the above payments directly from the FPSC (Doctors of BC) starting in March 2025. Instructions on how to claim the payments will be shared with eligible physicians as soon as possible. Please email fp.billing@doctorsofbc.ca with any questions. Community Longitudinal Family Physician (CLFP) PaymentThe CLFP Payment recognizes community-based family physicians who care for a panel of patients for providing long-term, relationship-based care. Team-Based Care GrantApplication deadline: Ongoing The new Team-Based Care Grant provides $15,000 to eligible family practices that have onboarded interprofessional team members. The grant will help address the costs of recruiting and onboarding into a practice, which physicians have identified as a barrier to creating team-based care practices. |
Panel Management Bonus PaymentApplication deadline: January 31, 2025 In addition to sessional dollars for time spent completing the phases of panel management, FPSC offers a $3,000 bonus payment once all three phases are complete. Compensation is designed to support community longitudinal family practice doctors and their teams in using their EMR (electronic medical record) systems to identify and respond to their patients' chronic and preventative care needs. HDC Discover Payment
Application deadline was: March 31, 2022 Family doctors who have completed panel management are eligible for a new $1,000 FPSC payment if they enrol in HDC Discover and complete the orientation in the web based application. The payment supports family doctors to utilize the application to make data-informed quality improvements in their practices. |
Group Family Practice Development Grant
Application deadline: funding is now fully committed and as such no new applications are being accepted at this time. The FPSC has introduced a new grant to help cover expenses incurred when family doctors join or form a new or expanded group practice. The Group Family Practice Development Grant, which provides up to $30,000 per eligible physician, addresses feedback from family doctors that significant expenditures of closing and/or merging offices are holding them back from forming or consolidating group practices. |
BC Care Bundle Payment
Application deadline was: May 31, 2021 A FPSC one-time payment with a minimum of $1000 that supported eligible family doctors who took on the additional work of identifying and treating patients with care needs noted in the Ministry of Health’s BC Care Bundle for Supporting High Risk Patients Through COVID-19 Pandemic and Influenza Season. |
