National Rural Health Week: October 21-25

Oct 23, 2024

Doctors and health care teams in rural communities throughout Canada are being celebrated this week as part of Canada's first National Rural Health Week Oct. 21-25, 2024. Rural primary care is a vital part of health care in BC, with several divisions of family practice serving rural areas.

Launched by the Rural Coordination Centre of BC (RCCbc) and Society of Rural Physicians of Canada (SRPC), the week celebrates the dedicated doctors and health care teams in rural communities.

This week features online activities designed to inspire, connect, and support health care professionals and advocates. Hear from rural health care providers about why they love rural practice, explore career pathways and opportunities, and help build the rural health partnership by joining a coalition of supporters. More information on the event details, schedule and registration can be found at ruralhealthweekcanada.ca.
