Increases to GPSC fees

Based on a process established in the last Physician Master Agreement, several of the GPSC fees have been increased. The fees actually went into effect April 1, 2020 but are being implemented now due to pandemic delays. Family doctors can expect to receive an MSP retroactive payment in spring 2022.

GPSC expands inpatient care bridge funding for one year

At its last GPSC meeting, members approved one year of enhanced funding to support the networks of family doctors who are providing longitudinal care for hospital inpatients in 47 communities. This funding will enable the GPSC to collaborate with partners to identify a process for developing a sustainable long-term solution for this work.

The GPSC improves access to fees that support doctors providing mental health and substance use care

Recognizing that the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the growth of mental health needs and the risk of substance use disorder in patients, the GPSC is improving access to the mental health management fees and expanding the personal health risk assessment fee to better support family doctors and their patients.

$1,000 GPSC payment available to family doctors who complete panel management and enrol in HDC Discover

Family doctors who have completed panel management are eligible for a new $1,000 GPSC payment if they enrol in HDC Discover and complete the orientation in the web based application. The payment supports family doctors to utilize the application to make data-informed quality improvements in their practices. HDC Discover is a is a physician-led web based application that supports quality improvement in primary care.
