Upcoming incentive changes and ending of fee 14074

The GPSC incentives continue to change in response to physician feedback collected during the visioning consultations, and to support the strategic objectives of the patient medical home model. The majority of the changes came into effect as of October 1, 2017. Additional changes to GPSC incentives will come into effect as of January 1, 2018.

On June 19 and 20, family doctors and various Ministry of Health, health authority, and Doctors of BC representatives gathered for the GPSC Spring Summit, which focused on progress and future steps toward establishing the patient medical home in BC. Keynote speaker Dr Paul Grundy, IBM’s Chief Medical Officer and Global Director for Health Care Transformation, kicked off the event, sharing his perspectives on the international emergence of patient-centred medical homes as the foundation for primary care transformation.

Spring Summit 2017

On June 19 and 20 in Vancouver, the GPSC’s is hosting a two-day networking event for partners who are working together to transform BC's system of primary care. GPSC co-chair receives UBC award for contributions to family medicine

Congratulations to GPSC co-chair Dr Shelley Ross for being recognized as a change maker for family medicine. 

As an Alumna of the UBC Faculty of Medicine, Dr Ross received the UBC Medical Alumni Association’s 2017 Honorary Medical Alumni Award, which recognizes faculty members who make significant contributions as committed clinicians, teachers, mentors, or administrators.

From delivering more than 300 babies to advocating on national platforms, Dr Ross influences change through her commitment to improving family medicine.

GPSC Summit celebrates A GP for Me and moving forward together

Nearly 300 of BC’s primary health care leaders attended a two-day event in Richmond earlier this week for the GPSC’s Summit: Moving Forward Together.

Attendees included physicians and staff from Divisions of Family Practice, and representatives from the GPSC, Doctors of BC, Ministry of Health, and health authorities. As partners in the A GP for Me initiative, they celebrated their collective achievements and discussed their shared learnings.
